To Hampton Residents & Business Owners: The Transfer Station staff is committed to providing you with quality waste and recycling services, we hope the following information will be helpful. The opposite side of this flyer provides information concerning your weekly curbside rubbish and recycling programs.

NO SPRING CLEAN-UP

In addition to rubbish you may also bring the following items to the Transfer Station at the listed fees.
$0.04 per pound for wood demo, sheetrock, asphalt shingles and pressure treated wood.
3" and smaller brush is free as is clean paint-free wood.
$0.04 per pound for rubbish in excess of 1000 pounds daily. Businesses that have accounts set up with the town office are charged by a 5000 pounds weekly limit.
$7.50 per unit is charged for Freon removal from Refrigerators, Freezers, Air Conditioners and De-Humidifiers.
White Goods Scrap Metal - Used Motor Oil - Wet Cell Batteries - Clothing & Stuffed Toys are also accepted at the Transfer Station at no charge.
Amnesty Period: From May 10, 2000, to June 10, 2000:
Bring to the Transfer Station all Spring Cleaning items, including,
Refrigerators, Air Conditioners and De-Humidifiers, Demo and wood
Up to 1000 pounds per day at no charge.

Flatten and tie in 30” x 30” bundles no higher than 12”.

Do not mix with other paper. Food attached – do not “pack” in cardboard boxes.

POLYSTYRENE

“Styrofoam” meat trays, cups and plates.

Must clean.

Packing “peanuts”

 

Watch for special postings for holiday schedules.

2001 access stickers for Hampton residents, property owners and businesses are available for no fee. A valid driver's license and vehicle registration are required for non-resident property owners, a property tax bill is also required. Please remember that items coming into the Transfer Station must come from the Town of Hampton only, and the following fees apply.

Rubbish and Household Trash: $O.04 per pound in excess of 1,000 Lbs. per day. Businesses may establish accounts, which are charged by a weekly limit of 5,000 pounds.

Freon Appliances: $7.50 for each freon appliance (refrigerators, freezers, air-conditioners, water coolers, beverage vending machines, de-humidifiers, etc.). This charge applies even if the freon has already been. removed.
Computer Monitors- $7.50 for each monitor.
Gas Grill Propane Tanks - $2.00 each tank.
Construction & Demolition Material: $O.04 per pound for wood only loads (including brush over 5'. in diameter) or separated wood. $O.06 per pound for sheetrock, asphalt shingles, and mixed loads of non-separated materials. for clean wood (not painted, varnished, treated, soiled or otherwise damaged), please point this out to the attendant, as we only accept it without charge.
Remember, on Sunday's, your first 200 Lbs. of construction and demolition materials are free.

No Charge Recycled Items: White Goods, Scrap Metal. used motor Oil, Wet Cell Batteries, Aluminum Cans, Bi-Metal (Tin) Cans, Glass Bottles & Jars, #1 and #2  Plastics, Newspapers, Magazines, mixed Paper, Cardboard, Computer Components (except monitors), Yard Waste, and Brush (up to 5" in diameter). Please ask the attendant as to where these items are placed.

Compost~- Your biodegradable yard waste is screened each year, and the resulting compost is available to residents free of charge.

Not Accepted: Tires, Wet Paints or Oil Based Paint (Latex paint must be dry before we can accept it), Liquid Varnishes :and Stains, Household chemicals, .Anti-freeze, Gasoline, Kerosene, #2 Fuel Oil, Diesel Fuel, Bricks, Concrete, Asphalt, Asbestos or other hazardous materials. A household hazardous waste collection day is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2001.

No Charge Days: Saturday, May 19th through Friday, June 8cb. Disposal of your spring cleaning rubbish and bulk items are free up to l000 lbs. per day. Construction and demolition materials are free up to 500 Lbs. per day. Amounts over those allotments will be charged as above.
Please note: we will continue to charge $7.50 for each freon appliance.
